This ointment contains natural non-nano zinc oxide (will not absorb through your skin) but is low-whitening in comparison to store-purchased brands. It melts on contact with the skin and spreads beautifully without feeling sticky - a little goes a very long way. Use care if choosing this product for use on babies with cloth diapers as over-application may, over time, create a moisture barrier on the fabric.

Some of this balm's numerous head-to-toe uses include:

• prevent drying and irritation of skin during a cold or flu, apply daily around your nose to protect from physical tissue abrasion while blowing 

• use as an overnight facial barrier cream treatment to intensely moisturize dry, irritated, or wind-burned skin

• makes a great acne spot treatment, as zinc is highly beneficial for inflamed and congested skin (this balm is low in cocoa butter so will not aggravate acne)

• apply under arms, breasts or between thighs before a workout, hiking, cycling or other active pursuits or during the summer months to prevent painful chafing or redness caused by friction or sweating (runners can use to prevent the dreaded chub rub or raw nipples, ouch!)

• apply daily to baby's bottom to moisturize, protect and prevent irritation

• use to protect skin in cases of adult incontinence

• use to treat external vaginal dryness and vulvar dermatitis

• use in support of medicated vaginal yeast infection, jock itch or hemorrhoid treatments to shield skin from unwanted moisture and assist healing - can be used freely in vaginal and perianal areas

• applied between toes to reduce friction or prevent summer heat rash from sandals

Directions for use: apply to clean, dry and unbroken skin. Can be massaged in giving a powdery moisture-proof finish or left as a thicker protective layer depending on use. Avoid harsh cleansers if your skin is already irritated, and dry by gently dabbing skin rather than rubbing. DOES NOT REPLACE PRESCRIPTION OR MEDICATED TREATMENTS.

Balms and ointments shipped during summer months may soften or melt during transport. I may use additional insulation or cold packs to try to maintain temperatures, however, melting may not be preventable. Please consider ordering these items during cooler weather. If your balm or ointment arrives soft, place it in the refrigerator to solidify. Products containing natural butters like shea or cocoa may change texture and become grainy after melting. This does not affect their usability or safety.
